Amazon is seeking a Senior Income Tax Manager to focus on EMEA income tax reporting and compliance. This position will be primarily responsible for local country tax reporting (non-US direct tax returns & tax accounting) as well as the international aspects of the US GAAP worldwide income tax provision. This position will also be responsible for supporting the US and international tax controversy teams on audits and the international tax team on the compliance and reporting aspects of projects (including M&A and integration). This position will be based in the United Kingdom (London).

Primary job duties include:

1. Responsible for managing all external income tax reporting obligations for Amazon’s subsidiaries in certain EMEA regions. This includes reporting under US GAAP for SEC reporting purposes, local GAAP/IFRS for standalone reporting purposes and income tax compliance.
2. Responsible for the income tax controllership and reporting function for subsidiaries in certain EMEA regions (including tax compliance and cash tax management). This includes managing the research and documentation of in-country tax technical and income tax accounting positions
3. Lead efforts to build and develop a world class EMEA reporting and compliance organization for the relevant regions
4. Function as EMEA lead business partner to the Global Tax Technology Team. Responsible for driving best in class technology tools/solutions and developing/contributing towards the global strategic roadmap to facilitate greater controllership and reporting capabilities for the EMEA region.
5. Function as Reporting Team key point of contact on certain business strategies and transactions
6. Function as the Reporting Team lead for one or more lines of business (such as Amazon Web Services, Consumer Business, Digital)
7. Support international tax controversy teams on tax audits
8. Support international tax compliance and reporting aspects of relevant mergers and acquisitions

Basic Qualifications:

12+ years of direct tax experience
University Degree in Accounting / Taxation or equivalent
Significant knowledge of cross-border income taxation laws
Significant experience with accounting for income taxes under US GAAP, IFRS, or similar accounting rules
Fluency in English

Preferred qualifications

Secondary University Degree in Tax or Law Degree desirable
Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent preferred
