Tax Accountant, Financial Services, 12-18 month contract, £50k

Our client is a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh city centre. This role will assist with external/internal reporting, company tax and general work in the financial and management accounting teams as required. This is a 12/18 month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities:

* Preparation and review of company tax returns (UK and overseas namely USA, Australia and Singapore)
* Tax payments/tax calendar
* Provision of information to tax advisors
* Year-end provisioning
* Tax templates reporting
* Transfer pricing calculations and documentation/benchmarking
* Review of permanent establishments and queries
* Dealing with tax queries
* Review of VAT returns
* Owning tax advisor relationship
* Review of statutory accounts for the company pension scheme
* Dealing with auditors in connection with pension scheme year end
* Review of monthly intercompany reconciliations
* Quarter end work as required

About You:

* Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
* Experience in Financial Services is preferable
* UK tax experience (plus international preferably)
* Good understanding of accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS)
* Good understanding of taxation, preferably including overseas tax (USA, Singapore, Switzerland and Australia) as well as UK
* Good understanding of transfer pricing arrangements
* Strong ability to analyse data
