Director - Global VAT Systems (In-House), London

Top tier corporate group with prestigious European HQ has created an opportunity in-house for a ERP-Indirect Tax Systems Leadership role, to manage a number of systems projects.

Based in a VAT / Indirect Taxes operations team, this key role will assist in VAT automation projects working between VAT operations and the IT function. Key responsibilities will be identifying and assessing VAT processes within the AP/AR environment, VAT determination based on country VAT regulations and fiscal changes, and project managing the integration of VAT rules into the ERP / SAP environment. In addition there will be scope to identify improved VAT systems liaising across the business, tax and the IT environment.

To meet the challenges of this opportunity, you will have a strong initial VAT / indirect taxes background, having transitioned into a tax / VAT systems based role at Manager or Senior Manager level. In terms of VAT, you will have strong knowledge and awareness of EU / international VAT principles and will have seen VAT 'in action' in different countries. You will also have a good overview on VAT compliance processes and demands from VAT / tax authorities. In terms of IT exposure, experience of working on VAT configuration within SAP will be key advantage in the role, although consideration will be given to any detailed experience within other ERP systems and tax engine bolt-on technologies.

In addition, you will have strong commercial and business acumen, excellent skills at communicating with senior executives across a business, able to run projects in structured way, and ability to work in a multi-team environment.

This role is based in the London area, and with occasional travel in Europe when required.
