Tax Senior - refocus into technology

Have you had an initial training in tax (direct or indirect tax) but unsure of the next step' Do you have a strong interest in technology / computing / IT' Possibly you graduated in IT / Computer Sciences / Maths or Sciences before a move into tax, and now eager to use that knowledge' If yes, this is an excellent opportunity to combine your work experience to date and interests, and to focus your career into high-end tax technology systems with a leading consulting firm.
This role will join a well established and progressive team within a top tier advisory firm, most likely as your first step into tax systems and technology. You will initially work closely to assist Managers and Senior Managers on client-led projects, either working in the firm's London office or at a client location. Projects will involve analysis and information gathering on clients' accounting and tax systems, understanding business processes within the ERP / SAP framework. You will also assist on proposals to clients on how they can improve or enhance their tax systems, leading to working on implementation projects of software and IT systems with clients. Product technologies will include tax accounting solutions, compliance software, tax engines and work flow systems.
You will be a graduate ideally in one of Computer Sciences, IT, Mathematics or Science subject, and with a logical thinking approach. You will have started your career following graduation, most likely in tax / auditing / accounting either in a large-end company or with a practice firm of accountants. You may be on track for qualifying at ACA or ACCA, or part-qualified. You are now unsure of your career ahead in corporate or indirect tax, now interested in making a switch into the IT systems & software sector. Aside from background and qualifications, you will be a good problem solver, able to deduce solutions in a logical way.
Please note - You do not need to be an IT program specialist to move into this role, although a keen interest and aptitude for IT applications (e.g. Excel / MS Access / SQL / database solutions) will be very beneficial. In addition, you will be confident with very strong communication and relationship skills, now looking to move and progress your career quickly into the high growth field of finance and tax technology within the large-end corporate sector.
