VAT Manager - top 50 firm
A top 50 accountancy firm is looking for a VAT Manager to join their team in Milton Keynes or Watford, to work within this extremely friendly firm, covering VAT advisory work with the ability to build close relationships with clients and senior members of the firm. If you want to progress and build a solid client base with great relationships and have an excellent work life balance, then this is role for you
Milton Keynes / Watford
The role
* Assist in growing and developing the VAT practice within this firm, work with management team to grow the business
* Provide advice to clients, ranging from owner managed businesses, to banks, to trustees and larger clients
* Risk identification
* Liaise with clients, work together to solve issues and assist with VAT planning
* Review VAT returns from a wide portfolio of clients
* Write VAT and present quality reports
* Assist with training and management of other team members
About you
In order to succeed in this challenging role, it is expected that you will have:
* CTA qualified (or ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
* 2 years experience in a professional services firm
* Strong technical ability - detailed knowledge of UK and EU VAT with knowledge of Rest of World VAT
* Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments to agreed deadlines
* Confident in dealing with unfamiliar tax issues, with plenty of support from the rest of the team, and enthusiastic about continuing to learn
* Strong relationship-building skills; able to inspire trust from colleagues.
