Global Indirect Tax Lead - Flexible location in Europe

This is an opportunity to take global responsibility for indirect tax in a European headquartered, global technology leader, employing over 35,000 people in 90 countries.

This newly created position will be the global subject matter expert for indirect tax and will report to the Head of Tax. There are country tax managers in many countries and in larger countries there are indirect tax specialists who do the compliance and they will keep their direct reporting line locally but have an indirect reporting line to this role.

The Global Indirect Tax Lead is about being the global technical leader for indirect tax and bringing them together as a virtual team and leading initiatives. It also means taking on the bigger VAT projects that require a global or regional approach, such as rule changes, system upgrades, big audits, big contract reviews. It is about setting the VAT strategy and policies and supporting the regional tax and finance leaders. They need someone able to decide on projects and take decisions.

Ideally the role is based in Kraków or somewhere close enough to get there regularly without too much hassle. To be suitable you will need at least 10 years of indirect tax advisory experience in consulting and industry. Affinity with processes and IT systems is important as well and experience with SAP S/4 HANA and Vertex would be advantageous
