Working in the role of Credit Controller, you will be joining a well established and respected organisation based in the heart of Elgin. This role is a permanent opportunity, offering an immediate start with a competitive salary.

Your new role
Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure customers make payment within the agreed payment terms
* Reviewing orders on hold, customer a/c queries and complaints in a courteous manner
* Checking, approving, or rejecting new account applications as per company procedures
* Ensuring monthly statements, first letters and final demands are printed, checked, and sent out within the agreed timescale
* Setting accounts up for direct debit and running the direct debits monthly on the dates set by management
* Dealing with customers professionally by phone, letter, and email. Taking card payments over the phone daily
* Passing accounts for Legal Action
* Maintain accurate records for all chasing activity
* Assisting with the month end reports

Experience:

To be considered for this position, it is essential that you have demonstrable experience in a similar Credit Control role in a fast-paced office environment, supporting high-volume collections and monitoring bad debt. You will have experience in dealing with difficult conversations with customers, such as clients who have gone into administration. You'll be skilled at finding solutions that are acceptable to both the company and the customer, where possible.

What you'll need to succeed
Skills / Knowledge:

* Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal
* Good keyboard skills and competence in Word, Excel, and Outlook
* High standard of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to recognise potential risks to the firm that should be escalated
* A proven track record in achieving credit control collection targets
* Confident call handler
* Knowledge of Credit Law
