Salaries
Salaries can vary significantly across Asia, however, within the major global firms this has been harmonised to mirror purchasing power parity, differences in tax legislation and effective exchange rates.
However, salaries in major locations, such as Tokyo and Hong Kong, are typically supplemented with allowances for housing to reflect the rising cost of real estate. In these areas salaries do continue to be considerably higher than those in more emerging markets.
