This asset management firm is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to bring their tax in-house for the first time. You will play a pivotal part in this business as the sole point of contact for all tax issues. You will as such have great business exposure as well as the opportunity to grow your role and responsibilities.
The Role
* Providing day-to-day business advice to all business areas globally regarding tax issues encountered in the global business including withholding taxes, other operational and transactional taxes, property taxes, employment taxes, VAT, and corporate income taxes including transfer pricing.
* Providing tax guidance and assistance in global product development initiatives, including tax advice on registering funds in different jurisdictions.
* Providing tax guidance to the fund accounting teams and assisting in fund accounting tax related issues.
* Completing and lodging all tax returns and filings.
* Managing and strengthening relationships with external tax advisors and other service providers globally in relation to tax issues.
* Manage tax disputes.
* General tax updates for the business, including strategic leadership to benefit from changes in tax legislation and policy.
Qualifications/Experience required
* ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent
* Extensive experience in a senior tax advisory role at an investment management firm, or at a "Big 4" auditing practice. Experience in investment management tax issues essential.
* Excellent communication skills to discuss issues at a senior level, and to work with senior stakeholders, translating complex tax matters into plain English.
* Proactive, energetic, and driven.
