The FS tax group advises on a broad range of international and domestic clients across a wide variety of industries and with a particular focus on the financial services sector. Their client list includes all of the significant financial institutions in Ireland, in the banking, insurance and fund management sectors. They also advise many clients involved in complex structured finance and capital markets transactions with a market leadership portion in the big-ticket (aircraft, ships etc.) finance and leasing sectors. They have a number of people operating in the property and investment and financing sector in structuring and advising on real estate transactions.
In addition, to their focus on financial services and property clients our industry focus also extends to wind energy, carbon credit trading, telecommunications, private equity and hedge funds as well as a general focus on insurance and investment in Ireland by multinational clients.
Role - Tax Director
Supervisory responsibility for a portfolio of both Irish and Multinational clients
Overseeing the detailed tax work of managers and seniors on a number of varied projects such as mergers and acquisitions, developments and such
Liaising closely with clients in relation to planning, and to discuss business developments generally
Researching and resolving technical queries from clients
Reviewing and finalising final tax return submissions for corporates and tax provisions for financial statements
Liaising with partners, as well as other professionals including Audit, Corporate Finance, etc.
Overseeing a group of c.2 managers and 6 seniors and trainees
Monitoring the development of managers and playing a key role in their development.
Participation in the delivery of training courses to staff.
Playing a key role in the development of new business, through participation in industry and potential client focus groups.
Participating in cross firm ad hoc committees as and when the need arises.
General administration, including working capital management.
Requirements
Qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant or equivalent) and tax consultant (AITI)
Strong technical knowledge of accounting (including IFRS)
At least 9 years in a professional tax environment, including at least five years as manager or equivalent
Excellent team leading, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong commercial awareness and business development skills.
