An opportunity has arisen to secure a maternity contract for a well known global group based in the City of London. The Tax Accountant will assist the various Tax Managers in preparing tax calculations for reporting purposes (quarterly reporting, year end and financial statements), preparing tax computations and returns and correspondence with HMRC. The role will also include ad hoc tax advice. The Tax Accountant will be responsible claims and elections and tracking assessments and appeals for the group.

The Tax Accountant is also responsible for managing payments, offsets and refunds of corporation tax, liaising with HMRC and the Unilever finance team, and then checking payments are properly accounted for.

Different parts of the group have different UK tax issues, so the Tax Accountant will gain a broad experience from working as part of the team.

Key accountabilities:

Tax payments and refunds, and tax accounting
Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
Dealing with HMRC enquiries into the tax returns
Quarterly, Year End and Statutory Accounts tax provisioning
Ad-hoc advice
