KPMG's U.S tax services group is a team of professionals who assist businesses and individuals to manage and minimize taxes in a cross border context. Our group provides compliance services which includes assisting clients with their U.S federal and state tax return filing requirements and a wide range of tax consulting services.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
As part of the Regions US Tax Services department within our Windsor office, you will provide excellent mentoring and career growth opportunities, and will work with leading practitioners in their field. This position provides the opportunity to participate in a broad range of tax-related work requiring analysis, assessment, and quantification.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
-Manage tax driven projects such as reorganizations.
-Consulting closely with clients and Partners as a senior member on tax planning work.
-Involvement in both compliance and consulting activities.
-Reviewing the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
-Relationship building and business development.
-Providing ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.
-Collaborate with team members in Tax and Assurance groups.
-Ability to travel is required.

THE SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS:
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviors:
-Successfully achieved a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA or CGA).
-Masters of Taxation and the CICA In-Depth Tax Course is an asset.
-Completed 5-6 years specializing in tax in a public accounting firm or industry.
-Ability to interpret tax legislation as it relates to US federal taxes and cross-border tax issues.
-Emphasizes and builds the value of service offered to the client with strong project management and organizational skills. -Excellent research and written communication skills, combined with sound quantitative skills.
-Effectively manages conflicting demands and priorities.
-Able to instill enthusiasm in others to achieve desired results.
-Effectively links the activities of the department to own firm’s business strategy.
-Able to provide persuasive and self-assured responses to challenging questions
