Working in the Wealth Management industry can provide a varied and interesting career opportunity for lawyers working in Private Practice. We are currently working on an assignment for one the world's largest wealth managers; the private banking arm of a leading investment bank.
The products and services team which supports the bank's client relationship managers is looking to recruit a senior private client lawyer to enter at director-level. The role will involve providing bespoke financial planning and investment solutions to the bank's international HNW and UHNW clients, specifically dealing with offshore tax and trust issues. The successful candidate will have developed advanced technical skills with a thorough knowledge of the legal and technical aspects affecting non-domiciliaries including the taxation of investments and the use of offshore trusts for wealth and succession planning purposes.
The role will involve a high degree of international client contact which will require the candidate to be adept at dealing with the cultural sensibilities of a diverse client base of wealthy individuals located in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia. In addition to legal duties the successful candidate will be expected to assist in managing junior staff and provide ongoing education and training to the bank's client advisors and wealth planning colleagues.
This role will offer a competitive remuneration package and a very healthy bonus. Due to the success and growth of the wealth management industry this bonus should not be affected by the current issues in the banking sector. The long term career prospects offered by this role are incredibly diverse; it will allow lawyers to explore a number of options in the future working in an exciting and growing industry whilst not damaging their chances of returning to Private Practice at some stage.
