The team as a whole advisers unquoted and smaller listed companies, entrepreneurs and wealthy individuals. The aim is seamless client service, from complex tax planning to compliance with a focus on the private client area, covering a wide range of clients.

The role encompasses:
• Managing a varied portfolio of private clients – working to become a ‘trusted advisor’ by managing all aspects of the client’s affairs.
• Building and maintaining good client relationships – you will be encouraged to be hands on with your clients from day one, managing and controlling deliverables and deadlines, handling day to day queries and establishing the role as the trusted/primary point of contact. This will include managing any tax return compliance, which is outsourced to a specialist team outside Reading.
• Tax planning projects and ad-hoc advisory work - predominantly income and capital taxes issues and frequently work with international aspects including domicile and offshore trust related work. As you would expect the team have good links with the Firm’s private client specialists internationally and you will be asked to work across borders to find solutions. All grades are encouraged to contribute to new planning ideas and to help to shape those ideas through to implementation.
• Technical research and report writing - including ‘original research’ (review and interpretation of the legislation) as well as tailoring specific existing planning ideas to meet an individual client's needs and circumstances.
• Being a good team player, prepared to assist in the support and development of more junior staff - sharing knowledge and expertise through team working and actively managing individual work-streams.
• Front line involvement in new business generation – including ‘problem solving’ for business/client specific ideas and solutions; involvement in networking events, proposal meetings and marketing seminars; and managing introductions to other parts of the firm e.g. Legal
Strong UK tax knowledge, with experience of advising high net worth individuals on UK and international personal tax issues, in particular expertise in domicile and offshore trust related matters is preferred.
