Independent firm requires a CTA qualified individual with 2-3 years’ management/supervisory experience. The role encompasses a split of work: 80% personal tax : 20% corporation tax and corporation tax training will be given if needed. The role reports directly to the partners, so candidates must be comfortable with this responsibility and the accountability demanded. The firm encourages direct client contact and expects staff to have confidence in building relationships with new and existing clients both in a work environment and at social functions.
Specific skills required include: a methodical, proactive attitude to work and personal development; strong time management and prioritising abilities; able to motivate staff and earn respect; the ability to explain tax issues to non tax staff; strong technical skills and research abilities. 50% of the time will be spent doing special tax work along with the corporation tax manager i.e. share reclassification work, company purchase of own shares, employee share schemes, remuneration planning, company reorganisations, capital gains tax issues, IHT issues, overseas tax issues.
The role will develop into an autonomous management position and is viewed by the existing partner team as one that will offer partnership on a reasonable timescale.
