About the Opportunity
A well-respected pharmaceutical company is looking to add a Payroll Tax Lead to its team of dedicated professionals. The Payroll Tax Lead will be responsible for supporting the year-end activities for a 40k+ US (including Puerto Rico) organization. They will review and analyze audit reports, provide direction to resolve discrepancies, and manage activities to process year-end files and reporting. .
The Payroll Tax Lead will:
Perform payroll tax activities and assure that services are timely, accurate, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements
Review tax audits and year-end data inputs to ensure accurate, timely and compliant processing
Perform reconciliation of data in output files and control reports, and submit for review to the manager
Support the manager as a subject matter expert to organize and facilitate year-end activities, working with all disciplines to coordinate and ensure timely receipt and processing of year-end tasks
Coordinate and assist with the all year-end and W-2 processing, assuring compliance to mandated timeliness and federal, state, and local regulation, support efforts to drive the accuracy of essential data necessary for processing (e.g., SSNs, addresses), and provide input to and follow practices that will increase efficiency and reduce costs by encouraging employees to receive W-2s electronically
Previous experience in payroll tax, preferably for a large multi-state company as a supervisor, senior analyst, or specialist
Demonstrated and significant analytical and problem solving skills
Experience with payroll SOX, audit, and corporate compliance requirements
Proficient understanding of payroll processes, controls, financial compliance, and regulations
Experience with an ERP system
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience with payroll applications and service providers (e.g., BSI Tax Locator , Empower, CIC-Plus)
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other designation
Exposure to contact center applications (especially case management)
