Global Business Services (GBS) is our client's internal supplier of global business support services including IT, finance, facility management, human resources, communication and business support projects. GBS' ambition is to be a world class provider of business services.
Being part of Global Deliveries (GLD) within GBS, the indirect tax sector has the responsibility for handling our client's indirect taxes worldwide. It is an international team consisting of people from several countries speaking more than 15 different languages. The team has four sub-teams. The sub-teams are accountable for providing indirect tax advice, coordination of indirect tax liabilities and reporting with separate teams from Norway, EU, the International area and an Infrastructure team dealing with indirect tax system set up and project support.
To strengthen the indirect tax team within the International area my client is looking for people that have experience or the mindset for dealing with indirect tax systems within the international environment. They are now looking for one position which will be based in the London Paddington office reporting to the Head of Indirect Tax International.
This role may suit a motivated person who wants to expand their knowledge of indirect taxes beyond their local country expertise.
The Team
The indirect tax team currently consists of around 35 indirect tax professionals and lawyers who all support the goal to deliver value added indirect tax services to our client's expanding business world wide. The indirect tax team is highly motivated with a strong commercial orientation and values-based performance mindset. The role will offer varying and challenging tasks that provide opportunities to develop indirect tax competence as well as commercial orientation in an international context.
The main responsibilities will be:
*Proactively advise and assist business areas on international indirect tax matters including Customs & Excise matters
*Update the organization about new legislation and provide training as required
*Design and implement indirect tax routines to ensure correct international indirect tax treatments
*Support the business in specific international projects
*Coordinate contacts with indirect tax authorities and external advisors
*Optimize indirect tax cashflow
*Support the organization in handling indirect tax risks
*Liaise with all sub-team members of Indirect Tax and members of the Indirect Tax team
*College/University, master's degree or equivalent in economics/finance/law. Professional accounting or tax qualification.
*Experience from working with indirect taxes either locally or preferably internationally in the oil and gas industry, tax authorities, an accounting/auditing company (big 4 or others) or a law company
