Join Deloitte’s market-leading International Assignments Services practice and be part of an expanding and successful business, working within a supportive and collaborative environment. Specialise and develop expertise in the oil and gas industry as well as working with large multi national companies. We can offer you all the challenges, opportunities and stimulation you would expect of a global business advisory organisation, coupled with all the lifestyle opportunities afforded by the North East of Scotland.

Reach your full potential and beyond!

Operating in the ‘oil capital of Europe’, the Aberdeen office offers unlimited opportunities, in terms of client portfolio – ranging from multi-national Oil and Gas companies to major UK Fund Management businesses. This allows you the opportunity to develop and specialise within a niche field if you wish to. We also work closely with our sister offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, enabling you to foster strong working relationships within the group.
You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the UK tax return process, communicating with engagement teams and clients, managing a small team and have the opportunity to truly develop your tax technical skills. As a Manager within our Expatriate team you will play an integral part in streamlining the tax return process and liaising between engagement teams and internal and other stakeholders. This is an ideal opportunity to develop and maintain external client relationships as well develop technical experience.

Deloitte’s successful and thriving Expatriate Tax team has experienced 50% growth over the last year and has ambitious growth plans for the coming year. There are genuine development opportunities and scope for progression within the team. Our expatriate tax group alone contains 10 professionals, who are all instrumental to the continued development of this team. This is a long established, stable team with dedicated partner group, and offers all the career progression opportunities that are available, for example, in the large London practice. We will provide you with the tools to reach your full potential and beyond, with no barriers.

Aberdeen can provide you with a contrast in lifestyles - it has a busy and cosmopolitan centre yet the peace and tranquillity of the countryside is less than a 20 minute drive away. Be part of an environment which enjoys one of the highest standards of living in the country, with good access to the rest of the UK and Europe. The office is situated in the popular West End, close to leisure facilities which cater for almost every taste – indoor, outdoor, sporting and non-sporting.

As an expatriate tax specialist, you will:

* Manage the preparation of tax returns, review team output, be responsible for signing out the returns and
* provide coaching to less experienced colleagues
* Manage the timing of the UK tax return process, working to tight deadlines and allocating team resources effectively
* Be involved in technical analysis of remuneration plans and expatriate tax positions, in liaison with engagement managers
* Manage communication and relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients addressing any concerns and ensuring the compliance process runs smoothly
* Develop strong relationships with clients
* Promote use of technology tools improving the management of expatriate data and annual compliance process
* Proactively identify ways to streamline processes

To qualify, you will have:

* ATT/CTA Qualification or equivalent qualifications or experience
* Experience of preparing, reviewing and signing out UK tax returns
* Experience of managing large UK tax compliance programmes
* The ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships at all levels
* Experience of managing and motivating small teams
* Excellent prioritisation and time management skills
* Experience of year end process, modified PAYE, NIC and expatriate P11Ds would be beneficial, but not essential
