The position:
This is a newly created position which has primarily arisen as a result of the expansion of Reckitt Benckiser through acquisitions and through new business initiatives. The candidate will assist the three International Tax Managers who have specific regional responsibilities and the Group Tax Director. Initial focus will be to support the International Tax Manager with all countries outside of Europe and North America.
- Assist and help implement tax planning opportunities within the Reckitt Benckiser Group globally. Agree action plans with management and implement e.g. capital structures and internal reorganisations
- Support the International Tax Managers on the ongoing integration of the recently acquired SSL businesses (Durex and Scholl)
- Assist local finance directors with tax audits/general queries and with the management of tax advisers.
- Assist with the preparation of the Group's annual CFC return.
The Candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Accounting (ACA or equivalent) and/or Tax (CTA);
- Trained in tax with a leading accountancy firm;
The Candidate will be:
- Manager in the tax practice of a leading accountancy firm or working in the tax department of a large group with significant international operations
- Able to communicate clearly in person, by telephone and in writing with colleagues in finance and other departments in the UK and international territories. Foreign language skills would be an advantage.
- Confident to make decisions and methodical to document the reasons and support for these decisions.
- Responsive to time pressures, able to work to agreed objectives and deadlines, and able to identify, assess and communicate relevant issues on a timely basis.
- Willing to travel on an ad hoc basis.
