Working within the tax department of a fast growing consumer services business, ensure the tax deadlines are met and provide tax advice to the operating companies of the group worldwide.
The role will involve working mainly with UK, European and Asian tax.
-Analyse in country and cross border transactions and provide VAT and indirect tax advice.
-Assist with the preparation and filing of the indirect tax returns and EC sales lists.
-Identify and explain legislative developments to both internal and external stakeholders.
-Deal with VAT registrations and reregistration.
-Assist with the internal control (i.e. SAO regulation in the UK)
-Assist in communicating with the tax authorities
-Continuous review of risk and compliance and escalation of recommendations to senior management
About you
Personality:
The candidate will have previous experience of working under pressure with tight deadlines and will have developed ability to prioritise and plan. Seeking to solve challenging technical tax issues and proactive on tax opportunities for the business.
Specific Job Skills:
Experience with European and international tax, within an accountancy firm or large international group.
Comprehensive knowledge of VAT and ability to compile research.
Computer Skills:
Good IT skills, ideally experience with PeopleSoft or other ERP system
Qualifications and Skills Required:
The candidate will ideally be qualified CTA, ACA or similar, but experience will be taken into account and attitude is the key to this position. European Language an advantage - Dutch, French, German, Swedish
