Our work is varied and as a Senior Manager you will be given the opportunity to advise on our main indirect taxes including VAT, Customs Duties, Insurance Premium Tax and, increasingly, environmental taxes. Because we offer a rounded client service, you will be expected to analyse what is happening in the market and use this information to be proactive in looking for solutions. This role involves:
* Managing a portfolio of clients for the provision of strategic customs duties planning and technical advice;
* Overseeing the management of an engagement and ensuring the smooth delivery of results;
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships with both existing and new clients.
* Leading and motivating a team;
* Preparing and delivering new business proposals;
* Identifying cross-selling and new opportunities both with colleagues in the rest of the Indirect Tax Group and other service lines;
* Marketing and business development;
* Billing and budgeting.
To be considered, you must possess:
* ATT/CTA or equivalent qualification or experience
* An in depth knowledge of customs duties issues, UK legislation and customs reporting procedures and
* Strong client facing, relationship building and business development skills, coupled with commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively in a team.
* Experience of leading client engagements, and managing and developing staff
* A working knowledge of excise duties would be an advantage but not essential as would prior experience of ERP systems and SAP in particular
