As Tax Manager for Russia/CIS you will oversee all tax aspects of Group's operation in Russia and the neighbouring countries, which includes companies for sales and distribution, service delivery, international leasing.
You will take care of all tax compliance matters for the local entities and tax registrations. You will be coordinating tax audits and the relationship with the tax authorities. You will be liaising closely with local finance and accounting staff as well as external tax advisers.
Our various business units and management will seek your expert advice on tax questions in both a local and international context.
You will be coordinating the tax compliance and managing tax audits of our entities in Russia and its neighbouring countries, working in closely with local tax advisers and local finance and accounting staff.
Furthermore, you will pro-actively identify weaknesses in current processes and identify solutions, to ensure that tax processes are in place and delivering the correct output.
In the area of tax planning you will form a team with the European and worldwide tax functions.
Your career path will lead you to us provided that you have a degree in business administration or law with a special focus on Tax & Accounting (or a related qualification).
Ideally you have gained already relevant work experience with a tax-consulting firm, within the industry or tax administration (ideally 3-5 years).
Having a commercial outlook, strong business acumen and an awareness of risk would be to your advantage. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in difficult and often time-constrained situations will nicely round off your profile.
Geographical responsibility: Russia, Ukraine, neighbouring states (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, etc.)- 2 legal entities and 3 Representative Offices
Corp.Tax
Review tax calculation (local tax and US-deferred taxes acc. to FAS109 as prepared by Accounting)
Provide guidance to Accounting on tax adjustments (permanent/timing)
Prepare tax returns and tax payments
Prepare tax-reports to US-tax department (where applicable)
Review tax account reconciliations
Liaise with tax authorities
Manage tax audits
Ensure adequate documentation for tax audits is prepared and stored
Prepare and update local transfer pricing documentation in cooperation with the Tax Center of Excellence
VAT:
Review tax returns (as provided by Accounting)
Instruct input supplier to the VAT process on the tax rules
Monitor VAT payments
Ensure adequate documentation for tax audits is prepared and stored
Liaise with European VAT team on international projects
Business Support:
Provide tax advice to management and business units
Review contract proposal and provide tax position
Track legislative changes and pro-actively inform local management, finance and regional tax function
Liaise with regional tax team on international projects
Manage local tax aspects of acquisitions and divestures
Controls:
Maintain tax processes, identify weaknesses and find solutions
Act as SOX- process owner for tax processes
Manage local tax adviser engagements
