In house tax jobs can also be referred to as commercial tax jobs or industry tax jobs. These are tax jobs that are internal, as oppose to client-facing, and generally exist within larger corporations. The key differences compared to tax consultancy work (often referred to as tax jobs in practice) are 1) you do not have to bill by time 2) you need have the ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-technical colleagues within the business and 3) any tax advice needs to take into account the commercial reality of the company.

Similarly, if you are interested in a wealth management or trust role with a private bank, you should be browsing personal tax jobs or trust tax jobs. In these three examples there are client relationships, so notwithstanding the fact that these jobs are with banks, they are not in house tax jobs.
