The Role
- Build key relationships across the businesses, with external tax advisers and within the Team to enable timely and appropriate delivery of all responsibilities.
- Undertake the VAT compliance for the UK Businesses where specialist tax knowledge is required ensuring that UK Group is tax compliant
- Proactively manage all VAT matters surrounding UK bespoke retail schemes, VAT Capital Goods Schemes and the Group partial exemption special method and negotiate amendments with HMRC as required.
- Act as a consultant to the Businesses on all VAT related issues in order to ensure the Group is tax compliant and transactions are structured in the most tax efficient way.
- Oversee the VAT affairs on non-UK businesses to ensure tax compliance.
- Identify indirect tax savings opportunities for the Group
Qualifications/Experience required
* ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent
* Extensive VAT experience in a tax environment in a large multi-national in industry or in one of the Big 4.
* Proven ability to influence and communicate successfully at all levels
* Line management experience essential
