This high street bank offers you the opportunity to join their tax team and enjoy a varied and stimulating workload with the opportunity to develop your existing knowledge and skills set.You can enjoy the following:

* Provide VAT advice on structuring transactions.

* Mitigate VAT risk.

* Deal with ad hoc VAT queries as they arise.

* Provide VAT sign off for new products including liaising with other tax colleagues (corporation tax, TP etc) as appropriate to ensure all tax risk is considered.

* Advice on procurement including reviewing contracts and ensuring VAT efficiency where possible.

* Assist in developing ideas, providing input to various VAT savings and mitigation initiatives.

* Review and consolidate VAT returns and voluntary disclosures.

* Provide input and recommendations into systems development from a VAT perspective.

* Manage VAT audits and dealing with tax authority enquiries.

* Manage VAT payments and budgets.

* Ensure practical implementation and follow up of any VAT opportunities.

* Provide training for accounts payable staff on basic VAT issues and VAT coding.

* Provide VAT technical training and support for other VAT team members and graduate trainees where required.

* Assist with raising profile of VAT team, e.g. presentations to business areas.
