Our client requires a Financial Accountant to join their friendly Finance team for a 12 month maternity leave assignment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will assist with reporting processes, the production of the quarterly and annual reporting to FSA and the year end preparation of statutory accounts.
Key responsibilities:-
- Processing and accurately maintaining all necessary accounting records for the designated UK/Offshore companies
- Completion of monthly reporting packs
- Maintaining monthly balance sheet back up, in particular – intercompany confirmations, prepayments, accrurals, debtors and creditors supporting documentation for the designated UK/offshore companies
- Completion of working papers and drafting of statutory accounts for the designated UK/Offshore companies
- Accurate recording of transactions to the designated cost centres and maintaining support for accrurals
- Completing FSA returns within tight deadlines
- Updating any procedures on an ad hoc basis for SOX compliancy
Experience and qualifications required:
- Accounting qualification with exposure/experience in the Financial Services industry
- Prior experience of preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP or IFRS
- Proven experience with bookkeeping and reconciling of balance sheets.
- Experience with FSA reporting
- Exposure to Oracle or Hyperion will be advantageous
