This is a very rare in house hands on opportunity for an expatriate tax specialist to join a global marketing leading FTSE 20 business. The successful candidate will provide assistance and management on a wide range of the company's expatriate tax activities, mainly in the UK but also globally. The role sits within the Expatriate and Employment Tax team based in the UK which is part of the company's Group Tax Function. There is also potential to work on UK employment tax issues.


Key accountabilities

* Helping to ensure the company is both compliant and optimised in all areas of expatriate taxes in the UK.
* Helping with the identification and management of the risks for the company's expatriate tax issues.
* Working with HRIM on the expatriate compensation data collection process.
* Corresponding with the external tax consultants, and where required HMRC, with regards to enquiries relating to company expatriates.
* Managing the process for making expatriate UK tax payments.
* Assisting with the process to track, monitor and determine the tax liability in respect of the company's short term business visitors to the UK.
* Helping to manage the process for the global tax withholding requirements for the company's executive share schemes.
* Preparing and helping manage the completion of the year end share scheme UK tax reporting requirements.
* Helping to ensure the company is compliant and tax optimised in respect of Social Security for its expatriates, which includes management of the certificate of coverage application process for all moves except the Americas.
* Working on ad-hoc projects in expatriate and employment taxes.
* Helping in identifying and implementing process improvements for the company's expatriate tax matters.

Essential experience and job requirements

* Excellent technical skills.
* UK expatriate tax and social security experience.
* Knowledge and experience in taxation of equity based compensation.
* Good organisational and communication skills.
* Good IT skills.
