A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become part of the tax department for this global company specialising in infrastructure.
On a contract basis, you will cover maternity leave for the Employment Tax Manager for a period of 8 months. You role will encompass the following:-
The principal function of this position is to:
•ensure the company meets its compliance obligations on a timely basis;
•provide a pro-active support to the Business and its employees, where necessary, in all personal tax aspects;
•successfully manage the relationship with external advisors.
The priorities of this role include:
•preparation and submission of forms P11d and P46;
•review of sub-consultant questionnaire forms and determination of whether payments can be made gross, or net of tax;
•provide support for International Assignees, including preparation of UK personal tax returns where necessary;
•dealing with all tax aspects related to the Employee Benefit Trust;
•ensuring the group is adequately prepared for future payroll tax audits;
•respond to ad hoc queries.
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
•technically competent in all UK personal tax issues (an awareness of overseas personal tax issues would be an advantage);
•be highly motivated and self-driven;
•able to plan their own workload to schedule, prioritise and meet deadlines;
•prepared to take initiative and lead activities;
•excellent writing skills; able to prepare clear, coherent and concise reports and documentation;
•skilled in the use of spreadsheets with an aptitude to learn new software quickly.
•recognised accountancy or tax qualification;
•post qualification experience within practice or industry;
•trained within practice or HMRC.
