Unique in-house opportunity with a highly reputable energy company. Reporting to the Head of Expatriate and Employment Tax, you will have primary responsibility for dealing with all UK employment tax and NIC issues in the UK. You will also occasionally assist the expatriate tax team with any related issues. You will be expected to strengthen the Group's tax compliance, advisory and optimisation work on all aspects of UK employment tax.
Your specific accountabilities will be:
- Being a valued and proactive member of the UK employment tax team sharing knowledge and ideas.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Group Tax and Functions including HR, Legal, Pensions etc.
- Advising functions and businesses HR and business policies to ensure they are compliant.
- Being one of the points of contact for HMRC regarding employment tax issues including the correspondence and enquiries.
- Develop your skills in a stimulating and challenging environment. Your significant US and UK expatriate tax experience will ensure you are ready to take responsibility for the provision of advice to a portfolio of employers and HNWIs. - Ensuring HR are fully briefed on the requirements for full compensation and benefits data reporting for UK employees.
- Preparing all UK employment tax statutory returns including forms P11D and annual PSA forms 42.
- Ensuring compliance in the engagement of contract and agency staff for the company in the UK.
- Advising HR and the business on UK and global share schemes including expatriate tax issues.
- Advising HR and the business on tax issues relating to staff terminations.
- Advising payroll on tax/NIC queries.
