This is a rare opportunity to secure a 12 month contract with a successful organisation. The successful candidate will be a member of the Tax Group, EMEA and will report to the EMEA Senior Tax Manager Indirect Taxes. The EMEA Tax Group is based in London and is responsible for the coordination, management and independence of the group.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for supporting the Senior Tax Manager Indirect Taxes in planning and managing compliance in the EMEA region. A secondary aspect of the role will require the provision of advice on client engagements from time to time. This will comprise of working with and advising the Country Controllership on the proper completion of compliance responsibilities, the review of existing processes and procedures and the implementation of process improvement. In addition, the role will require the implementation and monitoring of internal control procedures, and the production and review of exception reports on all Indirect Tax matters. The role requires a proactive approach, seeking out issues and opportunities, and the development of proposals from inception to implementation. The successful candidate will be expected to advise and work with the local Controllership, the European Service Centre the Interfirm Contract Group (based in Luxembourg and Amsterdam), finance and legal personnel and other Accenture Global Tax Group (GTG) members throughout the world on a full range of indirect tax matters.
The role requires the ability to:
• Understand the existing ERP accounting system and identify areas for improvement on all matters relating to Indirect Tax compliance
• Develop tax planning proposals and obtain the approval of the EMEA Tax Director and EMEA Senior Tax Manager Indirect Taxes for implementation
• Support and keep informed Country Management, the Country Controllership on the implementation of local as well as global compliance initiatives developed by the GTG
• Communicate complex and innovative tax concepts in a business structured manner, to a diverse business management audience.
• Solicit and manage the input of external professional advisers
• Work with other tax groups to coordinate/harmonize in country tax planning. E.g. Client Tax Matters and Entity Tax Matters.
• Understand and interpret the contractual position of the Group, including transactions with third party customers and suppliers, and on an inter-company basis;
• Handle queries from and negotiate with local EMEA Tax Authorities
