Google is a fun and challenging place of work and the tax team consists of strong, creative performers with deep expertise in their respective fields fields. The team is responsible for global tax planning and compliance, defending the company in tax audits, and ensuring that the company accurately reports its tax matters in public filings. Reporting functionally to the Tax Director in the US and regionally to the Finance Director in Dublin it has the following responsibilities:
· Providing proactive tax advice with respect to the group's operations in the EMEA region and advising on tax consequences of various transactions including the acquisition and integration of acquisitions.
· Work closely with Dublin-based Finance team and liaise with legal, business and external advisers on various business and tax planning matters.
· Assisting with global transfer pricing documentation, FIN 48 documentation and FAS 109 process.
· Managing audits by revenue authorities in various EMEA countries. Managing outsourced tax compliance process for EMEA and assisting US tax compliance team with any international tax issues required to complete the US tax return.
Requirements:
· Applicants should be an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute. An accounting qualification is not a prerequisite but would be preferable.
· Extensive post qualification experience in corporate tax with a broad understanding of indirect tax principles.
· Good analytical and research skills with an ability to clearly communicate technical issues, especially with non-tax professionals.
· Willing to travel and a flexibility to adapt to US time zones when appropriate. Ability to change gears frequently, work well in a team environment and retain a sense of humor in stressful situations.
