The Middle East Proposition

The Middle East region is one of the fastest growing regions within our clients network. They are currently looking for assistance with identifying candidates to work in their practice. The tax practice is separated into lines of service. Specifically they are looking for successful candidates to work in their Human Resource Services (‘HRS') and International Assignment Solutions (‘IAS') department.

Their Middle East tax practice was recognised by International Tax review magazine (in the World Tax Survey 2008) as a firm which has the greatest depth of resources, experience and range of specialisms in the Middle East region. Accordingly, our client has a market leading regional tax practice and is looking for individuals with the following skills and experience to join our firm in Bahrain.

Bahrain

Our client has been practising in Bahrain since the mid seventies, and provides assurance, tax and advisory services. Currently their tax practice specialises in international tax and Islamic finance services. They have recently added HRS and IAS capabilities to our tax practice.

The practice currently comprises our 150 professionals and support staff.

HRS and IAS Practice

Our clients global HRS practice brings together professionals working in human capital, such as tax, benefits, retirement, communications, financial planning, benchmarking and many other services which is to the benefit of their clients. The HRS practice consists of over 6,000 experts in more than 80 countries which makes their network one of the best connected HR advisory businesses.

The IAS practice, which is part of HRS, is currently based in Saudi Arabia. They are establishing a new base of operations in Bahrain to service the wider Middle East region. Their practice provides US tax compliance services for expatriates living and working throughout the region who continue to have US tax filing obligations. In addition the IAS practice provides a complete international assignment service for organisations deploying staff across international boundaries. This includes strategic consulting advice, planning and compliance services as well as programme administration.

Accordingly, they need staff who are trained in and have experience with US personal income tax laws as detailed below.

The Role

Our client also has an extensive HRS and IAS practice throughout the Middle East region with clients located in many different jurisdictions including the UAE, Qatar and KSA.

Their client base includes major international corporations who have US expatriates working and living in the Middle East region, as well as educational institutions including many of the regions universities.

The non-Saudi practice is where the growth in the practice will occur in the future. There are many more US companies setting up operations in the region that will result in an influx of expatriate workers including Americans.

They currently need US tax professionals at either a Manager or Senior Manager level who have extensive current US individual tax experience.
