Responsibility for the corporation tax compliance of non-life companies in the Life business unit:
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns ready for manager signature
- Monitoring and review of claims and elections to ensure relevant claims are made on a timely basis
- Calculation and management of quarterly payments on account of corporation tax
- Preparation of responses to Inland Revenue queries, liaison with other departments as necessary, amendment of prior year computations and reconciliation of prior year adjustments
Provide tax support to business projects and corporation tax advice to the business as required
Work with Life Finance team to produce the tax disclosures for IAS reporting and UK Statutory accounts. You will be overseeing the tax position in the balance sheet and ensuring tax accounts are maintained on an annual basis
Provision of transfer pricing advice
Provide support and coaching to Corporation Tax Assistant
Qualifications/experience
ACA/ATII qualification required
At least 2 years corporation tax experience
Skills and competencies
High level of numeracy
Experience in research and presentation of tax advice
Good communication skills - written and verbal
Ability to work on own initiative but recognize when to seek help and bring issues the Senior Corporation Tax Specialist's attention
Ability to manage variable workload to ensure deadlines are met
