The corporate tax team of this strong independent law firm comprises of three partners and eight other fee earners including paralegal support. They advise governments, multinationals, other businesses and individuals on their UK and international taxation strategies and needs. Clients include leading financial institutions, UK and overseas quoted companies, government agencies, governments, SMEs and start-ups. The Tax Partners are all acknowledged as leading experts in their fields of specialisation and are supported by a highly qualified expert team. The team advises companies on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings and other corporate needs. The Tax Group is closely involved in the evolution of UK tax law, through its links with various research and lobbying organisations. They are now looking for a talented tax lawyer to join this outstanding team.
Key responsibilities include the following:
giving advice on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions
working on corporate restructurings
giving advice on a wide area of complex tax law
working on precedents for tax deeds/warranties and covenants
assisting with general tax work
research on points of law or development work for tax, as required
providing detailed and complex advise to high profile clients
training and supervision of junior members of staff
To apply you must have strong UK tax experience with a proven track record in the areas of work listed above. You will possess strong technical skills and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will have excellent academics (min of 2:1 or equivalent from a good university) and be a good team player.
