This Big 4 firm is offering ACA, ACCA and CTA qualified (or equivalent) tax professionals the opportunity to develop a corporate tax career in the beautiful offshore location of the Channel Islands. Financial Services experience is desirable but not essential.

You will take day-to-day responsibility for some of the largest clients, coordinating international advice and maximising fee opportunities for the firm.
You will manage some of the large number of overseas referrals and queries, advising on a broad range of projects including international structuring, transactions, location decisions and repatriation strategies. As part of the leadership team, you will have responsibility for the development and management of junior staff.  This will include delegation, monitoring and coaching but also involvement at a strategic level in conjunction with the partner and director.

The Islands
Jersey and Guernsey are self-governing islands about 15 miles off the coast of France, with populations of 87,000 and 60,000 respectively. The Islands have modern economies dominated by the success of the finance industry, with bank deposits of £275bn and funds under management of £291bn.  Jersey and Guernsey are UK Crown Dependencies and thus enjoy a special constitutional relationship with the UK.  Employers do not expect you to relocate there permanently, typically you can enjoy 3 – 5 years in the Channel Islands before moving on, either back to the UK or further a field with secondments to the Caribbean, British Virgin Islands and Switzerland commonplace.

In addition to professional opportunities the Islands also offer:

- A southerly location and temperate climate offering more warmth and sunshine than the rest of the British Isles.
- A rural environment consisting of fields, woodland, cliffs, headland, small country lanes and miles of golden beach.
- Benign local income tax systems, with low personal tax rates (max 20%), generous allowances and no capital gains tax or wealth tax.
- High standards of state health provision with a reciprocal agreement with the UK.
- Low crime rates.
- High standards of state-provided education on a UK mode.
- Housing licences are generally available for qualified staff, ensuring access to the restricted housing market for periods of up to 5-7 years.
