This leading retail giant has a number of awards to its name. The business is non-hierarchical, with a reputation for treating staff with respect and providing its employees with exciting career prospects, including the chance to develop your knowledge of the wider business and potentially involve yourself in wider business matters such as company marketing and strategy.

In addition to offering a very meritocratic environment, reward and recognition and career prospects, the role will offer you the opportunity to:

* Prepare the tax computations for all the smaller group companies (approximately 20) and assist the Direct Tax Manger with the preparation of the computation for the main trading entity;

* Assist with the preparation of responses to queries raised by HM Revenue & Customs including technical research and attendance at meetings with the Revenue and external advisors;

* In conjunction with the Direct Tax Manager, prepare tax figures and disclosure notes for inclusion in the Group’s consolidated statutory accounts and the accounts of individual entities. Prepare forecasts of the effective tax rate during the financial year;

* Act as internal consultant to the business providing technical advice to other departments (e.g. property, treasury, legal) assisting the Direct Tax Manager as required;

* Assist the Direct Tax Manager in the evaluation of advice provided by external tax advisers;

With a Big 4 or commercial background and an accountancy background being an advantage, you may also be ACA or CTA qualified.
