Our client is a globally renouned investment bank. Its focus is to operate in niche market areas and its global operations, particularly in Europe, have grown strongly in recent years.This growth has created an opportunity for a qualified tax accountant to join the UK Taxation Division. * The opportunity to work closely with Tax Division staff based in other national offices, including Hong Kong, New York and Sydney.

* Regular contact with external compliance advisors and service providers.

Responsibilities:

* Assist with undertaking the group’s various tax compliance obligations across Europe, including corporation taxes, VAT and employment taxes, with particular focus on UK entities.

* Enjoy exposure to non group tax compliance for the European region.

* Assist with the transfer pricing compliance process on an ad hoc basis.

* Provide tax accounting and compliance assistance to the local finance team.

Key skills:

* Commercially minded, ideally with some exposure to financial services taxation.

* An ability to understand complex structures and transactions.

* Ability to handle multiple assignments and work to deadlines.

Preferred, but not essential:

* Qualified Chartered Accountant, with 1-2 years post qualification experience.

* Experience in a tax or financial accounting department of a large commercial organisation, preferably in the financial services industry.

* Good IT literacy and some experience of PeopleSoft GL. In the latter instance, not essential.
