Middle East Sovereign Wealth Fund actively investing / divesting and as a direct result increased transactional, advisory and compliance management expertise is required at the Manager level.
Our client is a well known Sovereign Wealth Fund whom are in an exciting phase of their investment strategy and are bolstering / recruiting in a number of areas beyond the tax team reflecting a very healthy ?balance sheet?.
The type of work you will be involved in will be high calibre / at the forefront of international tax structuring involving a number of asset classes in a number of key jurisdictions beyond the Middle East i.e. North America / Europe / UK and Asia. Most of the work is ?outbound? investment however therefore those with experience in North American / European markets are of real interest.
You will be expected to have a equal hand in both ?compliance management? and ?advisory? work so a degree of high level / exciting advisory work is definitely on offer but as this is a In-House some compliance work will be required prior to bringing on other members of the Tax team which will happen rapidly i.e. this SWF are actively recruiting! A sense of ?getting your hands dirty? will be needed and those who think that 100% advisory from Day 1 is on offer need not apply. This role is not heavily compliance focused so bear this in mind.
Your background may include a broad range of corporate / international tax experience and you will have had possible exposure to a number of areas including listed securities, real estate vehicles (funds or otherwise), private equity and alternative assets.
You will have a very close link to the Tax & Finance Departments and have access to the key decision makers whom lead this SWF.
This role will only suit those with stellar academics from a renowned university, impeccable English language skills and appropriate tax legal or tax accounting qualifications sought after for the jurisdiction in which you are located.
Tax Lawyers are encourage to apply if they are from a jurisdiction where there is an understanding of the concurrent compliance function.
In terms of level this is preferably at Manager level although outstanding Assistant Managers and Senior Managers may be suitable.
The salary is to be discussed but is well above the market rate for Middle East, UK, North America i.e. they will pay top $$$ for the individual whom they select. In addition a very attractive benefits package is on offer.
