These are tax jobs that are internal, as oppose to client-facing, and generally exist within larger corporations. The key differences compared to tax consultancy work (often referred to as tax jobs in practice) are 1) you do not have to bill by time 2) you need have the ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-technical colleagues within the business and 3) any tax advice needs to take into account the commercial reality of the company.
